What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are oils naturally produces by the cannabis plant. Some of these are well known, such as THC and CBD, others are lesser known. Cannabinoids have been found to have a wide range of therapeutic benefits that can be used for medicinal purposes. The two most prominent cannabinoids that we know of are THC and CBD. They have been studied extensively for their medical benefits. THC is the psychoactive compound in cannabis that has been linked to an increase in appetite, pain relief, and anti-nausea effects. CBD has had a lot of attention lately because it does not have the same psychoactive properties as THC and can be used for a variety of purposes including pain relief, anxiety relief, treating epilepsy or even cancer treatment. There are other lesser-known cannabinoids such as CBN (cannabinol), CBG (cannabigerol), CBC (cannabichromene), etc. These cannabinoids have also been studied but to a lesser extent than THC or CBD due to their low concentration levels in cannabis plants.
